If I am thinking correctly a head unit for a car should be just a like a house stereo right? Well I should be able to take a sound cable (the red and white cables )from the back of my head unit and plug it into the headphone jack of my ipod and put the head unit on aux. mode. Will this work??

Yes, it will work but not enough pre-out volts. You might notice a difference in volume as compared to your radio. You will need at least 2 volts of pre-out to get some volume. Give it a try and let us know how it works out.

I fear no man nor women, only God Almighty! Proverbs 1:7(KJV): "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
