I've always known God existed, could somehow feel him all around me while growing up in a troubled childhood of divorce and moving alot and living with different relatives. That stuff is hard on a kid, feelings of rejection and so forth. As a teen i got involved with drugs and alcohol and it went downhill from there. I remember sitting in a jail cell reading my bible trying to gain some understanding when I read, "Get on your knees and confess your sins and ask for jesus to turn around your life", so I did without even thinking about it. All of a sudden, alone in my cell, someone gave me a hug. An actual hug. I felt arms around me comforting me in my time of confusion about life. I cried right then and there feeling relieved and strong in my heart that Jesus was there comforting me and letting me know that he is always there, all we have to do is ask.
