Testimony
During high school, time was very hard for me because of my learning disability (dyslexia). Teachers told my mother and I that your son would not make it in the real world. But my mother has faith in the Lord, that her son would make it in this world. At that time in my life I knew about Christ, but didn?t have a real personal relationship with Him. I grew up in a Christian home and church environment filled with the love of Christ. During these hard times, God?s presence was there with me through-out high school and college. My family and church members continue to pray for me.
After I graduated from college, I began looking for employment in the Atlanta area. I waited three months for my first job at a publication company. After working there for four months I was laid off. At the same time, I was looking for new a church to attend. My mother told me about Dr. Charles Stanley and First Baptist Church of Atlanta on Peachtree Rd. in Midtown. So, I went that following Sunday and enjoed the service. I began to attend church at FBA every Sunday morning to learn more about Jesus Christ. Meanwhile, I was faced with a dilemma in my life. I was out of a job and my finances were scarce. I barely had enough money to make ends meet. In December 1994, I realized that these situations were out of my hands, and only God could deliver me from these burdens. On December 31, 1994, I surrendered my life to Christ, and trusted His supreme power over my life. The veil was lifted off my eyes, and I saw the world for the first time with my spiritual eyes. I was free from sins and my heart was full of joy. Now, I continue the Christian walk with Jesus Christ as head of my life and my family by my side. God has blessed me in every way possible, even when I didn?t trusted in Him. At the beginning of my life till now, the presence of Christ have always been there for me (I realize that now). I want to serve the Lord with my talented gifts, which He betowed upon me.
In this age that we live in, it requires extraordinary people in Jesus Christ for an extreme generation. They?re not many cool Christian organizations out there that focus on young adults in this area. That's why I want to join your team of extraordinary people who enjoy living life, and have a love for our Lord Jesus Christ (not scared to share it with others).
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrew 11:1 & 6
