Testimony
My parents met at church, so I sorta grew up there. It didn't mean much to me until I was in high school.
When I was a young high schooler, I remember trying to impress my friends that I was cool by drinking a six pack of Budweiser. I did similar things as I struggled with all the other teen battles we go through like self-image, status, sexuality, fitting in, and (the biggest for me) depression.
Through it all, God remained faithful. I felt empty and lost until He showed me that He is real and that He loves me. I gave up my life for Him bit by bit after that. It is still a daily thing to put my own agenda below God's plan, but He is so good to me!
You know the old saying, "it takes one to know one?" It really is true with Christianity. Even going to church, I had no idea I was so lost until I found out Jesus died for ME. Suddenly the bottomless pit in my heart was filled--and is still being filled today.
He provides money to pay the bills, food to eat, cars to play with, and a new perspective on life every time I open up the Bible.
There is no substitute to following the one real living God into the wild and unpredictable events of life. It's like having the answer key to the biggest test in my life.
I love you, my God and Savior. "To what shall I compare you?" There is nothing else even close.
