Testimony

I was raised in a strong Christian home. My mother told me the story of Yeshua (that's Jesus, in Hebrew) and led me to the Salvation of Christ when I was 5 years old. My father was the breadwinner, while mother stayed at home and raised her adopted son. We were at church when the doors were open, and my father was a deacon in the church. I even went to a private middle school and it was during that time I started to understand what a reality Christ is, and the need of His salvation. I began to understand what it means to be in the world, and not of it. After graduating the 8th grade, I decided to consecrate my life to Jesus and serve Jehova, rather than cater to the desires of my own heart.

I changed schools and went to a public school for high school. The veracity of my faith was challenged. My classmates and friends didn't understand why I woudn't swear, or drink, or have sex, or smoke. They couldn't understand why I listened to bands like Petra, Mortification, and Mastedon rather than KoRn or other such bands. I could sum it up as a commitment to God. Some admired my stand for abstinence, some made fun. In the testing of my commitment I became stronger in the faith, studying my Bible, and attending Church with my family. I continued this through high school, and have ever since. I refused the wild life, and have no regrets.

My faith has been tested heavily over the last few years, and yet it remains strong, by the grace of God Almighty. It is troubling to see the path our world is taking, even more troubling the see the young people getting sucked in. We must show, not only fellow tuners, but the world itself that there is more to life than the newest music artist, or the latest reality show, or even the best engine modification. In a culture that has clearly abandoned even the thought of God we must show discipline and commitment. We will be tried, we will be mocked. If you are living as Christ would have you to then these things will come. Remember this: they have souls too, and the only glimpse they may get of Christ is by the way YOU live. Live strong, keep each other accountable, and have faith in Him.

Believe in Him and have eternal life.

Jeremy
